Previous Congresses

The Conference of European Constitutional Courts generally holds a congress every three years. Since its creation, 19 congresses have been organized. The Constitutional Court of Albania has participated in all activities carried out within the framework of this organization since its accession.

The themes of the congresses organized to date are listed below:

XIIIth Congress, 2005 (Nicosia):

“The criteria of the limitation of human rights in the practice of constitutional justice”.

XIVth Congress, 2008 (Vilnius):

“Problems of legislative omission in constitutional jurisprudence”.

XVth Congress, 2011 (Bucharest):

“Constitutional justice: functions and relationship with the other public authorities”.

XVIth Congress, 2014 (Vienna):

“Co-operation of Constitutional Courts in Europe – Current Situation and Perspectives”.

XVII Congress – Batumi, Georgia (2017):

 “The role of constitutional courts in the definition and implementation of constitutional principles”

XVIII Congress – Prague, Czech Republic (2021):

“Catalogues of human rights at the national level – implementation at the international and supranational levels”

XIX Congress – Chisinau, Republic of Moldova (2024):

“Forms and limitations of judicial restraint: the experience of constitutional courts”
